I'm not sure what this is, and I drew it.

Years ago I drew a comic strip called "Dog Complex." What you see below is a comic strip, but it isn't "Dog Complex."

I'd never have the time to do a weekly strip again, but I would like to find out a bit more about this odd little couple.

Who's up for a poop joke?!?!

I know I am!

My son could arrive any day now (my wife has been officially "full term" for a few days now), so I figured I should kick one of the strips out, since it could be the last for a while.

I managed to kick out a new Dog Complex strip tonight.

Painting Fences

In between rounds of eating grenades in Halo 3, I managed to kick out another "Dog Complex" strip:

Monkey is starting to look a bit more like Monkey, and the schnozberries are starting to taste a bit more like schnozberries.

Off to eat some bullets.

nyuck. nyuck.

Kicked out another "Dog Complex" strip.

The little dude is Angus, who is a hamster... or a gerbil... or a very tiny dog. Most of the animals I draw wind up looking like dogs, except for the dogs, who wind up looking like... well... Sid.

Dog Complex

For those who don't know, I used to create a comic strip called "Dog Complex." It ran for about 3 years in various spots on the web, and in a tiny newspaper or two, before I was offered a syndication deal with Universal Press. To make a long story short, timing was a key factor, and I had to turn the offer down, and at the same time end "Dog Complex."

Not to toot my own horn too much, but at times I think the strip was good enough to be in papers, and I still get people who mention how much they miss the strip.

So I started doodling with the Cintiq tonight and whipped up a new strip:

It's not much, but it was great to see the characters again. Outside of this strip that I created to announce that my wife and I were expecting our first child, the characters from Dog Complex hadn't paid me a visit in a while.

While Sid looks like he always did, somewhere along the way I forgot how to draw Monkey, who is the unshaven man on the right. It'll come back to me with time, and I do plan on doing more strips. It will never grow to the 7 day a week grind that it was, but I hope to kick out some strips from time to time and collect them somewhere on this site (along with the older strips) for folks to browse through.

So look for more in the future, but exactly when is unsure. I'd like to say weekly, but I'd also like to say I have a million dollars in the bank.

Big News

I used to draw a comic strip called "Dog Complex," and I thought I'd let two of the characters from that strip share some big news with you...

Click the image to make it easier to read.

Needless to say, we're quite excited!
