Log Jam!

One more in the can for my pulltab game side gig.

They wanted this one to be "extra vibrant," so I used lots of bright colors.

I also used real would in the making of the dam to give it that extra realistic touch. The beavers however are stuffed.

Peanuts Envy - My crowning moment as an artist.

I've had some decent achievements in my young artistic life, but none compares with the sense of satisfaction I received upon completing my latest piece, "Peanuts Envy."

Look at the sense of 'want' that I captured on the blue squirrel, which is in stark contrast to the red squirrel's smug demeanor. Notice the all-too-subtle use of the peanuts to suggest something much more ANIMALISTIC!

I hope you got my sarcasm, and I actually really did have a fun time doing this. They can't all be the Mona Lisa, folks! ;)

Take care.

Chip Game: 'Pumps & Hoses'

Here is a bit of new artwork for one of the chip games that I supply illustrations for.

The client had a specific scenario they wanted drawn for this one. Looking back, I'm sort of glad they did, as I probably would have drawn firemen as the band, Guns N' Roses, and I'm not sure anyone would have understood the joke.

Pepe Ocho!

Just finished up another chip game, and thought I'd share!

In case you aren't aware, Pepe Ocho is the current world champion of the JBWF (Jumping Bean Wrestling Federation).

Spy Game!

I just finished up another chip game and thought I would post it.

The client wanted a "Spy vs Spy" theme with the actual guys from the strip used. However I talked them into letting me simply "pay tribute" to the idea without totally ripping it off.

I also whipped up some actual chips for the game:

Have a great weekend!

Crash Test Dummy

I finished up another pulltab/chip game for the company I freelance for.

For this one they wanted a very specific scenario drawn up, and so I didn't have quite the artistic freedom that I've had on some of the others. I still had a great time creating it though, and managed to get it done just under the deadline!`

Santa Loves Chips!

No, not potato chips. From what I've been told he loves chip games and bingo, which is why I was asked to create the following pieces to be used as a Christmas card for the chip company I moonlight for:

The Christmas tree ball will be used as the front of their round card, and the Santa image will be used on the back.

I had a lot of fun working on this one, but please don't tell my wife or I'll be stuck making our family Christmas cards from now on!

Now for something way less gloomy...

I finished up another chip game...

Just so we're clear, this was their idea and not mine. I actually had the melons she was holding more of a cantaloupe color, but they were worried they looked a little too "melon-like," hence the reason she's now holding round watermelons.

Queen of the Hill

I'm still doing the chip game gig on the side, and this is my latest for a game called "Queen of the Hill."

It's always fun to work with such vivid colors, since I normally choose a bit more of a muted pallet. However if you want your game to grab someone's attention in a smoke-filled bar, you'd better be using all of the colors of the rainbow!

99 Bottles of Beer...

It's been a while since I posted one of these, but I finished another chip game tonight:

It turned out okay, considering I was extremely rushed for time. I usually get two weeks to complete one of these games, and for this one I got two days!

DIRT... Take 2!

The client I do the chip games for changed their mind right as the artwork for "DIRT" was uploading and asked for a whole new take on it.

As you can see, I still found a way to sneak in two of the construction machines that took me so long to draw!

DIRT

This one took a while, and I'm pretty glad it's done, as it was quite a pain to draw each one of those machines.

I actually used to drive a front end loader like the one in the upper left hand corner, and now I'm drawing them for a living.

OH SWEET IRONY!
