Pleasantly Surprised
This is the term I would use for my experience with "Igor," which I watched last night for the first time.

I think part of what made my experience with the film so enjoyable is that I had read some reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, where the film only scored a 35%. I went in expecting something close to unwatchable, but wound up enjoying the story and characters quite a bit.
This is by no stretch a contender for film of the year, but I laughed a couple of times at it, found the visuals to be quite pleasing, and actually liked the concept of the film a great deal. It's got a Tim Burton style to it that can be very hit and miss on some of the character designs, and the film does drag a bit here and there, but overall it's worth a rental. I'll probably even wind up picking it up on DVD at some point, as I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
