First Birthday Train
My Son will be turning a year old in December, and I wanted to do something special to celebrate. His room is decorated in trains, so I thought it would be cool to have a piece of his Dad's original art on the wall.

The final image will actually be three framed pictures sitting next to each other, with the picture of the engine being the largest, and the other two getting progressively smaller (more narrow) in size. This is the early sketch of the train, which I'll be coloring between now and sometime in October. I'll then have each image framed and hopefully hanging on his wall in time for December 8th.
All of this of course will go through three phases for him:
1. Not knowing anything about the picture hanging in his room, because he's only a year old.
2. Being old enough to know about the picture in his room and thinking his Dad is pretty cool for drawing it for him.
3. Becoming a teenager and hating everything about his Father, including the "stupid train picture" that he's now too old for.
Hopefully there will be a fourth phase as well where he takes pity on his old grey father and gives the picture to his own child, whispering in their ear, "act like it's neat, Grandpa spent a lot of time on it," before his kid runs off to play with his hologram machine. Share this on: facebook

OH-FISH-ALL!
I am now officially 100% an Artist with Microsoft Games Studios! This week I completed my first week, and I've already learned a literal ton of information (I weighed it myself).
My previous project within the Test group asked that I stay on just a bit longer to help transition things over to my new replacements, but I finally made the jump to crayons and markers this past Tuesday.
I can't wait to dive even deeper into my work, and hopefully I can share some of it here down the road.
As a nod to my old team, please make sure you check out "Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts" when it hits the Xbox 360 later this year. I am so honored to have been a part of that game, and can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it. You really will be blown away!
More to come! Share this on: facebook
