One More Avatar
Maybe I should start charging for these...

This one was for my good friend, Tracy. He's a guy, in case you can't tell.

Another Avatar
I made an avatar a few weeks back for a co-worker and when my office mate saw it, he asked for one as well.

If you hadn't guessed, he's a huge Star Trek fan.
We have so much in common. An average conversation goes like this:
"You watch the Seahawks last night?"
"No... there was a Star Trek marathon on."
[silence]

Big News
I used to draw a comic strip called "Dog Complex," and I thought I'd let two of the characters from that strip share some big news with you...

Click the image to make it easier to read.
Needless to say, we're quite excited!

Demo Reel
I finished my demo reel tonight.

Click the image or the link below, and let me know what you think, or if you prefer the lower quality, but faster loading YouTube version, I've got that for you below as well.
Please Note: The stuttering in the YouTube video is not do to the animations themselves, but due to the fact that YouTube flat out rules. If you like your animations pop-free, click the link!
Thanks a heap!

Cheese Is Near Final
UPDATE: I've updated the animation quite a bit. It's still not final, but it's getting there...
Cheese Movie
My dialogue shot for this quarter of Animation Mentor is almost done.

What you'll be seeing is not final animation, and is only a playblast of the latest version. I've got lots of refining to go on this bad boy, and we don't have access to full facial rigs yet, so true facial expressions will have to wait for next quarter.
I should also mention that the mouth is a bit off, timing-wise, especially in the middle portion of the animation. This will be fixed as well.
Oh how it will be fixed...
I should also mention that I made a bunch of changes to my 3D Artwork section, namely re-lighting three of the animations on the page. So if you haven't stopped by in a while, go have a look!

DIRT... Take 2!
The client I do the chip games for changed their mind right as the artwork for "DIRT" was uploading and asked for a whole new take on it.

As you can see, I still found a way to sneak in two of the construction machines that took me so long to draw!

Business Card for the Mrs.
My wife was getting jealous of me drawing stuff for other people and asked that I draw her a business card logo.

Here only two (somewhat odd) requests were that I draw her in jeans and that she be holding our Chihuahua, Tyrone.
Done and done!

DIRT
This one took a while, and I'm pretty glad it's done, as it was quite a pain to draw each one of those machines.

I actually used to drive a front end loader like the one in the upper left hand corner, and now I'm drawing them for a living.
OH SWEET IRONY!

Hands and Some Guy
Started sketching hands tonight during the AM lecture on... of all things... hand gestures.

Somewhere along the way, the wheels fell off and I started drawing some guy who looks like he's straight out of "Citizen Dog."
And yes... I'm aware his left arm is far too long.

Hoot Loot
Here is a recent game I did for my side gig, called "Hoot Loot."

I've got another one that I have to have done by Wednesday of this week, so I'll post that sucker too.

Thought I'd throw this sucker up too.

It's going to take me a few months to really get the feel of the Cintiq down, but I am already really excited about how easy it is to use.
I should mention that this sketch was inspired by a recent drawing over at Creature Box. Thanks again to Dave for the advice on the Cintiq!

Don't Call It A Toy!
The sketches you see below aren't that special at all, save for one major detail. Can you guess what it is?

They were all created with my brand new Wacom Cintiq tablet!
If you haven't seen these bad boys, they're basically an LCD screen that allows you to draw right on them. I've wanted one for ages, and I finally talked my wife into picking one up for me. She must have been drunk or something, because she also got me a copy of Sketchbook Pro, which is the program I used to "sketch" these images.
She asked me, "How do you like your new toy?" and I was quick to respond that this is so much more of an investment, as it will help me a great deal in my art gigs down the road.
She didn't buy that line either.
